“We are a people of the ocean. Our brands, our corporate culture, our products, methods, and worldview all begin with the ocean. At Oceanpick, we believe that sustaining our marine environment is the key to everything.
Trincomalee Bay, on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka, is the beating heart of Oceanpick. The blue waters nurture and give life to the barramundi we farm, package, and market to customers all over the world. It is our home. But it is a home we share with a diverse range of marine fauna and flora, as well as the local fishing communities that depend upon it for life. We are committed to ensuring our home remains pristine and ecologically balanced for future generations.
This commitment spurs us to ensure that every aspect of our operations contributes to our sustainable goals, from responsibly sourcing of feed to reduced waste and carbon emission tracking.
Trincomalee itself, the Indian Ocean, and the wider marine ecosystem of our planet is as vital to the health of our company as it is to humanity itself. We at Oceanpick continue our mission to provide our customers with high quality, healthy, and sustainable ocean-farmed food, we understand that the stewardship of our marine environment is not optional. It is, and will remain, our top priority.

Our Sustainable Projects
Across Sri Lanka’s coastline and inland communities, Oceanpick’s sustainability efforts come to life through meaningful, action-driven projects. From coastal restoration to responsible aquaculture practices, each initiative on this map represents our commitment to preserving ecosystems, supporting local livelihoods, and driving long-term environmental progress. Together, these projects form the foundation of a more resilient and sustainable future for our oceans.
Our Approach
Our 3 Pillars of Sustainability
At Oceanpick, sustainability is not just a practice — it’s our purpose. Our approach is built on three key pillars that guide every aspect of our operations, from hatchery to harvest. These pillars reflect our commitment to protecting the ocean, empowering our people, and ensuring a responsible future for aquaculture. Together, they define how we grow sustainably, care for our environment, and contribute to healthier oceans and communities.
Ocean
The ocean is our lifeline, and we intend to protect it for generations ahead. Guided by ISO 14064-1 verified GHG accountability and transparent GRI reporting, SBTi targets alongside a clear Net-Zero plan, Oceanpick is setting the benchmark for climate responsibility in Sri Lanka’s marine aquaculture sector. We cut emissions, prevent pollution, and restore ecosystems with projects like blue carbon and plastic reduction. Our vision is clear: healthier oceans that support resilient communities and thriving marine life.
People
Our success is inseparable from the well-being of the people who live and work alongside the ocean. As a SEDEX member with SMETA 4-pillar certification, Oceanpick upholds the highest standards of labor rights, safety, and transparency across our operations. Yet we believe true responsibility goes beyond compliance. We invest in people by supporting health and education, fostering youth empowerment, and creating opportunities that strengthen coastal livelihoods. Through active engagement with fishing families, employees, and local communities, we build resilience, inclusivity, and shared progress, ensuring that sustainability flows from the ocean to every shore we touch.
Fish
At the heart of our business is the barramundi we raise with care. As Sri Lanka’s first ASC and BAP-certified marine finfish farm, we follow the strictest standards for fish welfare, nutrition, and traceability. Our veterinarians and skilled teams ensure responsible feeding, biosecurity, and stress-free handling from hatchery to harvest. Every fish we bring to market reflects our integrity and dedication to healthy, ethically raised seafood that supports both human health and planetary balance.
